Goals for the Decade | Jesha is a Bookworm

Summary Goals for the Decade of Jesha in Jesha is a bookworm

One other reason for my blog is to make it an online diary for my reading adventure. I wanted to make a list of goals for myself and post it here so that I can check it out in a decade.

#GOAL 1: Still Have the Blog Running in a Decade

I started my blog in mid-2019, almost the end of the decade which was the perfect timing to see if I can make my goal and keep them in the coming decade. It's also a good way to see if I can claim this goal by the end.

#GOAL 2: Get 1000 Subscribers in the Blog

Right now I have 38 subscribers in the blog between the blog itself and bloglovin'  which is a small number but I am happy to have since 38 subscribers is better than no subscribers. I am happy to know that the blog gets at least 4 views per day which is an achievement for me.

The platform is saturated at the moment and it will surely grow as time goes on but hopefully the blog will be able to grow as time progress, I'd be happy with 1000 subscribers. I wanted to go with 10,000 but that might be too high so I settled with 1000.

#GOAL 3: Post a Video with Me

I am shy and I always try to hide. I don't want my identity to show. My family members don't even know about the blog. They know that I am doing something but nothing specific. One day I hope to break out of my shell and be front and center for a change.

#GOAL 4: Start a Local Magazine

You see I live in the city of Iloilo right now but my heart is elsewhere. My mother came from Antique specifically the town of Patnongon and growing up I spent half the year there. I would spend the weekends there even when it was a long commute. I fell in love with the place and it's great place to live sadly they don't have the innovations of other areas have which is the same for remote places in the Philippines.

I always dreamed of owning my own magazine. I wanted to publish articles promoting the place I love written by people in the community. Starting a magazine would be expensive but I hope that I can start with this project in ten years even if it's a small one.

#GOAL 5: Move to My Own House

It's uncommon for single Filipinos to live away from their parents especially if he or she is an only child but I've always wanted to try living on my own or at least have a house solely myself. This doesn't have to be a grand mansion but a home with a bedroom, bathroom, and working kitchen is all I want. In our current economy this might be a problem for me but I'm making a list and I want to include this one.

This will be a motivator for me to get out there and find a job.

#GOAL 6: Get Involved in Publishing a Book

I've always loved reading. I adore books and one of my dreams as a child was being part of the editing process of a book. The industry in the Philippines isn't the same as abroad which means that in order for this to happen I'd have to move to Manila or Cebu but I hope that I'd be able to enter the publishing world. It might be possible with the digital age but I'm not really sure how to start with this one.

#GOAL 7: See an all blue map in my Analytics

I want to see that. I want to see that every country has a representative that read or came across my blog in the next decade. My analytics looks like this right, taken January 1, 2020. Right now I have a lot of views from US but I hope that it would spread out. 10 years is a long time for me to promote my work so I feel good with this goal. Oh, I'm not putting a lot of hopes on North Korea but that's fine since I have one view from South Korea right now. SCORE!

#GOAL 8: Podcast in Buzzsprout

I opened a Buzzsprout account. The free version since I'm broke which mean I can post 2-hours worth of audio content a month which will be deleted in 90-days. This is a good beginning for someone just testing the waters but I hope that this will grow and continue in the coming year. I also hope to share this podcast with someone because co-hosting sounds fund.

#GOAL 9: Go Book shopping Abroad

I've never been anywhere outside of the Philippines but I'd really like to. Back when I was younger I refused to travel due to my fear of airplanes but now that I am no longer afraid that a plane would crash while I was on board I think it's time for me to spread my wings.

The goal is Japan, South Korea, USA specifically New York, Australia, and England. Either one of those countries will do. I'd like to cross this off my bucket list.

#GOAL 10: Attend a Wrestle Kingdom Event

If you don't know by now I am obsessed with TV, Movies, Anime, Comics, Manga, and pro-wrestling. I've adored it since I was a kid. My grandfather loved it and he'd always call me over to watch with him. Didn't like it at first but it grew on me. We enjoyed it together along with watching boxing. Anyways, he passed away in 2018 but the notion of watching Wrestle Kingdom live is an appealing one. Why Wrestle Kingdom? It seems like a can't miss show. They've performed stellar shows the past decade that I just want to check it out for myself. Plus, I'm a Will Ospreay fan. SUE ME!
