Blogger Recognition Award

The Blogger Recognition Award: Jesha is a Bookworm

First of all I'd like to than @TheRayJourney for the nomination. You can find his blog on the link here. I won't lie and say that I know a lot about this or about blogging but I am thankful for the nomination. I've been doing this for only six months and I am amazed of the great community blogging is. I've met great people and enjoyed talking to them. It has gone beyond my expectation and I am so happy I took the leap to start blogging.

About the Award

The Blogger’s Recognition Award is an award handed out by bloggers to bloggers to recognize their hard work, effort, and dedication they are putting into their blog. It's not easy keeping up a blog. There is a lot to be done in order to
It was created as a symbol of approval and motivation; and to let readers know more about other bloggers who deserved to be followed.
Bloggers take time to create their post. They research the topic and take hours to write and ensure that their post is the best it could ever be.

Award Rules

  1. Write a post displaying your award.
  2. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  4. Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers.
  5. Nominate 10-15 bloggers who you believe deserve to be recognized.
  6. Let the nominees know they have been nominated.

How did you start blogging?

I'm a senior in college with tons of time this semester. I only have 5 classes. There's a lot of time in between and I wanted to do something fun that would be helpful for me in my future. I dream of becoming a book editor. I love reading and I enjoy being part of a team that creates something beautiful. My teacher told me that I had talent but I hide it and don't practice. She told me to practice my craft and try to get other people's feedback instead of hiding my work. No award or verification was ever enough for me to feel confident in my abilities. She was the reason I started the blog.

I want to be learn to appreciate my work. I wanted to get them out of my notepad and into the world. I've always enjoyed book reviews so I decided to start there.

I'm still learning but this journey has been exciting. My teachers also told me that this blog can help me be a portfolio when I start applying for work. The book industry in my country isn't as vast but I hope to one day be able to work in a publishing house.

What Advice Can You Give to New Bloggers?

First advice I can give is chill. You are starting out it's not going to be perfect and even if you do this for years you'd have errors. It's part of life. The important thing is learning from those experience. Learning from people's feedback and becoming better with it. You just need to be consistent in your work. You'd get the hang of it in the future.

On my first month I did not understand a thing. My blog was bare and I had no idea how things worked. I found it ugly. One example is the layout. I took the time to draw what i wanted. Envision the look and feel of the blog. It was good on paper but I did not have the skills to create that. I felt like giving up but I realized that there are ways to learn how to do it. I'm alright with what the blog looks now. There are still changes to be made like dead links but I'm learning and fixing my mistakes as I go. I am proud of my work because it's mine and I get to experience how it progress. This my baby.

The second advice I can give is schedule. We have tasks outside of blogging. In order to get this going and continue with your tasks you need to divide your time properly. Being a student I need to make sure that I keep my blog up to date and my school tasks done. It wasn't difficult in the first month because our school tasks weren't that heavy but I can't say the same thing now. Finals are coming and I needed to take a break from blogging for that. I write my reviews on Saturday and schedule the posts so I know that it would be updated. And even with this there are times that I can't finish the task on time. That's alright. Life happens. You just need to continue with you blogging if you truly desire to do so.

Who are your Nominees?

This is where it get's tricky. I haven't had time to decide who I want so I might not tag 10 people. All I know is that I want to nominate the people that truly deserves it. Can I nominate the person who nominated me??? I wonder.

She was the first person who interacted with me on twitter regarding blogging. You can find her blog on the link.
